Electronic music innovator Kieran Hebden, also known as Four Tet, has unexpectedly released a new eight-track album under his cryptic Wingdings alias, making the project available digitally after its initial vinyl-only debut last month. The surprise release follows a limited pressing of just 2,000 copies, which quickly sold out through online record stores before arriving on streaming platforms and Bandcamp.
Released via Four Tet’s Text Records imprint, the 37-minute album continues the producer’s fascination with anonymity and unconventional presentation. True to the Wingdings project, both the album and its tracks feature indecipherable symbols instead of traditional titles, with one of the songs having previously appeared as a standalone release in October 2025. Several tracks have also become familiar to fans after featuring regularly in Hebden’s recent DJ sets.
The Wingdings project joins a growing list of aliases employed by Hebden throughout his career, including KH, Percussions, 00110100 01010100 and 4TLR, each exploring different facets of his expansive electronic sound. The release arrives following a busy period for the British producer, who recently performed at Italy’s Kappa FuturFestival alongside fellow electronic heavyweights before preparing for the return of his annual all-day festival at London’s Finsbury Park next month.
