TP PODCAST #201: RÖYKSOPP
Early last year, Norwegian electronic music duo Röyksopp sent fans into a tailspin after the appearance of a mysterious post on social media, teasing… something. That post would evolve into a cryptic website, and that website would eventually unlock to reveal the world of Profound Mysteries, the latest galaxy in the Röyksopp universe. The three part project, comprised of music, video, and other multimedia experiences, saw Röyksopp return in some ways after their vague departure in 2014. Cut to now, and they’ve launched an international tour bringing the world of Profound Mysteries to life on stage. Slated to perform in South Africa for the first time this March at The Playground’s own Timeless Festival, we had the incredible opportunity to connect with Sven and Torbjorn, to speak about everything from the Norwegian winter, to the creation of what has been called their most ambitious project to date, and of course, Robyn.
