TikTok has unveiled a new suite of tools designed to raise the visibility of songwriters on its platform. Dubbed Songwriter Features, the rollout allows writers to register for a Songwriter Account, complete with a dedicated profile label and a new Songwriter Tab that showcases songs they’ve written or co-written.

For the first time, songwriters’ content and credited work will appear side by side within the app. The move is part of what TikTok describes as a broader effort to connect creators more directly with their audiences. The beta launch is currently live with a select group of publisher partners, including Warner Chappell Music, Kobalt Music, Reservoir Media, and Sentric.

Executives from across the publishing world have welcomed the move. Laura Willoughby of Warner Chappell called it “a significant step toward boosting songwriter visibility,” while Kobalt’s Derek Cournoyer praised the feature for tapping into fan curiosity about the creative process. Reservoir’s Rell Lafargue noted the platform’s “forward-thinking” approach in supporting independent songwriters and catalog visibility.

Prominent writers such as KOLE and Lauren Christy also voiced support, emphasising how the feature helps surface their contributions to major hits. “They didn’t need to search – I appeared on their For You Page,” noted KOLE.

The launch follows TikTok’s recent music-centric innovations, including Add to Music App integrations with Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud, as well as in-app album release experiences and the global rollout of TikTok for Artists analytics.
