Norwegian producer and Hans-Peter Lindstrøm collaborator Prins Thomas returns to the Eskimo label for a three-disc collection of club favourites, oddities and obscurities from the likes of Robert Hood, Actress, Kurt Vile, Marcellus Pittman, Young Marco, Luke Abbott, I:Cube and Hieroglyphic Being.
‘Paradise Goulash’ is titled in tribute to The Paradise Garage – the legendary NYC club where groundbreaking DJ Larry Levan took up residency in the late 1970s – with an added culinary flavour courtesy of the Prins himself. The selection on each disc is designed to convey a different mood and atmosphere.
“The music contained within is a willfully diverse collection of music that I hope you’ll find pleasing to your ears,” says Thomas. “Much like a bowl of goulash, not all the ingredients might be to your liking. It is undeniably more rustic roadside tavern than refined dining but I hope you already trust me behind the pots and pans. I have been spoilt for choice by the many fine ingredients available to me and have become somewhat blinded in compiling the final tracklist. However, the end result has now been tested on my nearest and dearest to approval. I present to you, my own special ‘Paradise Goulash’.”
