The second edition of the PLAYYLIST series lands during Pride Month, spotlighting underground queer artists currently lighting up our radar at PLAYY. Magazine. These voices echo across a rich lineage of queer artists who have shaped the very foundations of electronic music; crafting its underground roots, reinventing its aesthetics, and transforming dance floors into spaces of resistance, release, and radical joy. From warped club experiments to stripped-back emotional dispatches, each track offers a glimpse into the future we’re listening out for.

Arca – ‘Ritual’
Arca’s ‘Ritual’ is a warped, whispering invocation – part prayer, part provocation. It’s haunting, intimate, and unmistakably queer, channeling transformation through glitch and grace.

BAMBII – ‘Mirror’ (feat. Jessy Lanza & Yaeji)
Featuring Jessy Lanza and Yaeji, ‘Mirror’ is an airy yet percussive fever dream, equal parts haunting and high-energy. BAMBII, a driving force in the global underground, fuses dancehall, club, and experimental pop with bold, queer energy, flipping the script on sound, identity, and resistance.

Pixel Grip – ‘Split’
This track slices through the ether with glitchy textures and pulsating beats, delivering a dark, electrifying pulse that’s both raw and hypnotic. Known for their futuristic blend of industrial, techno, and rave, Pixel Grip pushes queer electronic music into thrilling new territories.

GRRL – ‘Honeybee
GRRL’s ‘Honeybee’ buzzes with bold beats and glitchy distortion; a shot of raw kinetic energy – a perfect pulse for the Pride month dancefloor.

Tactix – ‘Don’t Trust The Bitch In Apartment 404’
If you’re privy to the sweat-slicked queer raves of Cape Town, you’ll know that emerging producer, DJ, and events organiser Tactix is the hottest thing right now. For those of you who aren’t, take a listen to the murky yet mesmerising titular track off their debut EP, DON’T TRUST THE BITCH IN APARTMENT 404.

LSDXOXO x Shygirl – SATISFY’
LSDXOXO and Shygirl, two queer juggernauts of the underground, deliver raw, pulsating energy on ‘SATISFY’ a fierce fusion of electro-industrial beats and commanding vocals. This track is a bold, boundary-pushing anthem that grips the club and refuses to let go.

Yeule – ‘Evangelic Girl Is A Gun’
Yes, we included this one last time, but ‘Evangelic Girl Is A Gun’ demands a Pride Month encore. Glitchy, guttural, and gloriously unhinged, it’s a breakdown wrapped in a battle cry: vulnerable, defiant, and unmistakably them.

Nxdia – ‘Boy Clothes’
We know – it was also in our last PLAYYLIST. But we still can’t get enough of ’Boy Clothes’. Nxdia turns swagger into subversion, blurring gender and genre with every distorted yell and stomp – an essential anthem for Pride.

Honey Dijon – ‘Femme Fantastique’ (feat. BJosh Caffe)
This track pulses with the vibrant energy and bold spirit that have made Honey Dijon a pillar of the queer electronic underground. Fusing house, disco, and techno influences, the track is a fearless celebration of identity and dancefloor liberation.

Octo Octa – ‘Move Your Body’
‘Move Your Body’ is a joyful, sweat-slicked invocation – classic house energy laced with breakbeats, bold piano stabs, and a soaring vocal hook that begs to be felt. A pillar of queer electronic music, Octo Octa crafts ecstatic, emotionally charged sets that turn clubs into sanctuaries and house music into liberation.
