According to a new report, almost half of all the music uploaded to streaming platform Deezer each day is now AI-generated. As of April, Deezer reported 75,000 fully AI-made tracks submitted daily, accounting for roughly 44% of its daily intake and totaling approximately two million tracks per month. This marks a significant increase from January 2026, when the platform received 60,000 AI tracks daily (39% of its intake), representing a rise of about 15,000 tracks a day in just four months.
In response to this trend, Deezer, which launched its tagging tool in early 2025 as the world’s “only music streaming platform to explicitly tag AI-generated music,” has taken proactive measures. The platform has demonetised 85% of all AI-generated music detected as “fraudulent,” removing these tracks entirely from the royalty pool. Despite the high upload figures, Deezer notes that consumption of AI-generated music remains “very low,” accounting for only 1-3% of total streams.
“AI-generated music is now far from a marginal phenomenon and as daily deliveries keep increasing, we hope the whole music ecosystem will join us in taking action to help safeguard artists’ rights and promote transparency for fans,” says Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier. He added that the company’s technology and proactive measures have “shown that it’s possible to reduce AI-related fraud and payment dilution in streaming to a minimum”.
Deezer has since made its AI-detection tool, capable of seeking out music made using mainstream generative models such as Suno and Udio, commercially available for others to purchase.
