Mind Against announced as next contributors to ongoing fabric presents mix series

Berlin-based Italian music duo Mind Against have been announced as the next act to take on fabric’s ongoing mix and compilation series, fabric presents. They follow UK artist TSHA, who presented an excellent journey into contemporary acid house with her compilation. fabric presents: Mind Against is due on September 23.

Mind Against are best known for their emotive fusion of IDM, house, and techno and have previously released music for Tale Of Us’s Afterlife records. The duo has a long standing history with fabric, having played at the club multiple times over the past eight years. Speaking on the compilation, Mind Against noted that it was an honour to be tapped as curators. “fabric compilations have been part of our adventure in this world since early days, so it’s an important milestone in our career,” they said. As to what can be expected from their addition to the growing series, they promise “a mix transcending genres and music tendencies,” revealing that they’ve asked a number of friends and peers for new, exclusive material “to fit the timeless feel we wanted for the mix.” 

Since arriving in 2019, fabric presents has evolved the club and label’s much loved fabric mix series by diversifying the artists approached to take the reign. Beginning with a divisive compilation from Bonobo, fabric has since looked toward a roster that combines underground stalwarts with some of the most talked about emerging talent. Aside from TSHA, over the past year the series has seen contributions from Overmono, Sherelle, Motor City Drum Ensemble, and Leon Vynehall. Mind Against are another interesting choice that further suggests fabric’s attempt to move away from strictly techno and tech-house.

Mind Against have released a single from the compilation called Freedom with Dyzen. An introspective and emotion heavy melodic tech cut, Freedom is typical Mind Against faire and signals that they will be sticking to their roots with this mix.
