Danny L Harle has unveiled ‘Starlight’, a new collaborative single with PinkPantheress and his first solo release since 2021’s Harlecore. The track, released on July 8th, 2025, also marks the acclaimed British producer’s debut under the iconic XL RECORDINGS imprint.
Described as a fusion of “euphoric melancholy,” Harle cites inspiration spanning early European composers such as Claudio Monteverdi and John Dowland, to ‘90s and 2000s Eurodance staples like Gigi D’Agostino and Alice Deejay. “‘Starlight’ reaches for a kind of euphoric melancholy—a guiding light in all of my music,” he shared in a statement accompanying the release.
Calling PinkPantheress his “dream collaborator,” Harle praised her “love for ornamental melodies and hypnotic lyricism,” which he says felt innately at home within his sonic world. The pairing feels natural: her airy vocal delivery ricochets effortlessly around his emotionally layered yet intricately glitchy production.
The single arrives as PinkPantheress prepares to embark on her An Evening With PinkPantheress tour this autumn, in support of her sophomore album Fancy That, released in May.
Known for his work behind the boards for artists including Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, Caroline Polachek, Clairo, and Oklou, Harle now turns the spotlight back on his own artistry with ‘Starlight’– a track that both nods to his classical influences and signals an electronically-steeped futuristic new chapter.
