Charlotte de Witte Announces Azadi EP Featuring AI Vocalist NAVA, Out 5 November on KNTXT

Belgian producer Charlotte de Witte, the personification of dark, stripped back acid techno is releasing her three track EP Azadi on 5th November 2026 via her KNTXT label. A regular on the festival main stages and surprise guest on the Tomorrowland 2026 Mainstage which saw her preview of some of the tracks from the EP. Azadi sees her collaborating with NAVA, the AI vocalist created in 2025 by British-Iranian artist Farbod Mehr as a voice for Iranian women who are not permitted to perform in public. NAVA is a voice of Iranian folk and artistry, her visuals are very much in the classical Iranian tradition and she has a substantial following online.

Azadi has three tracks: ‘Azadi’, ‘Omid’ and ‘Tales of the Desert’. ‘Azadi’ kicks off with a flurry of percussion and atmospheric effects over a brooding, acid-laden motif, the track breaking into NAVA‘s high, soaring vocals. ‘Omid’ is a bass-heavy, beat-driven piece with a number of futuristic stabs and a distinct two note motif with NAVA‘s rich, layered spoken word in Farsi providing the anchor. ‘Tales of the Desert’ moves through a series of mysterious breakdowns, with melodic synth lines, languid chords, hissing textures and measured acid flourishes all underpinning NAVA‘s clear vocal phrases. De Witte previously posted a preview of ‘Tales of the Desert’ on Instagram, the track accompanied by AI generated visuals of herself and NAVA walking across salt flats.

Proceeds from Azadi will benefit FEMENA, an organization supporting women human rights defenders and feminist movements throughout the SWANA region and Asia. The project grew from de Witte’s introduction to NAVA via a mutual friend, culminating in three original works that integrate the AI vocalist’s presence into de Witte’s signature techno landscape.

Charlotte de Witte shared: “Music transcends borders, languages and beliefs. It can carry stories that might otherwise remain unheard. It can remind us that even in the darkest moments, we are not alone. NAVA represents Iranian women banned from public performance. Unlike others, NAVA cannot get arrested for using her voice. These tracks are, in their own way, a small act of resistance. A reminder that people who are silenced, displaced or oppressed still have stories to tell and that those stories deserve to be heard.“
