Australian electronic producer Ninajirachi has teamed up with American producer and songwriter Porter Robinson for their long-awaited collaborative single, ‘WannaCry‘, marking Ninajirachi’s first original release of 2026. The track arrives after years of anticipation, bringing together two artists whose shared love for melodic, high-energy electronic music has made the pairing feel inevitable.
Named after the infamous 2017 global cyberattack, ‘WannaCry’ has reportedly been years in the making. The collaboration also carries personal significance for Ninajirachi, who has previously spoken about being a longtime admirer of Robinson. According to press materials, the first concert she attended as a teenager was one of Robinson’s shows at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, making the release something of a full-circle moment.
The collaboration follows a busy period for both artists. Robinson released his third studio album, Smile! 😀, in 2024, while Ninajirachi unveiled her acclaimed debut album, I Love My Computer, in 2025, further cementing her reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting electronic producers.
Fans first caught a glimpse of the partnership earlier this year when Robinson made a surprise appearance during Ninajirachi’s Coachella performance, where the pair debuted the song live before its official release.
