Jan Blomqvist has released footage of his 2026 Burning Man performance at MAXA, capturing an extraordinary set performed in the middle of a severe dust storm.
Shot in Black Rock City, Nevada, the set proceeded despite a severe dust storm causing near-zero visibility, with goggles-wearing attendees gathering to watch. Blomqvist chose to perform to make his three-week trip away from his family worthwhile, creating a memorable, shared experience for those who reached MAXA.
“People showed up during a fierce dust storm,” Blomqvist recalled, noting the challenge of singing against the wind and describing how those dancing together in the dust shared an unforgettable experience. The 90-minute film showcases his melodic electronic tracks, such as ‘Left Unsaid’, ‘Muted Mind’, ‘Elephant Shunned’, ‘Happiness’, and ‘The Space In Between ’ and features collaborations with artists like Beobe and Rodriguez Jr.
Directed, edited, and colour-graded by Severin Koller, who also managed drone cinematography, the film features audio engineering by Gabriel Velazquez, mastering by Felix Lehmann, and guest appearances by Beobe Music and Marvin Jam.
