easyFun – Audio
PC Music’s Finn Keane, better known as easyFun, has been an essential player in establishing many of the collective’s signatures. The bubblegum bass throb that’s become synonymous with PC Music hyperpop is largely his doing, as is the general sense of elation that comes from a saccharine dose of PC Music’s brand of hyperpop concentrate. His latest single Audio is all his guiltiest pleasures in one place, simultaneously paying homage to golden era mid-00’s pop, the Y2K era, and the future.
Sounding like a lost 3OH!3 deep cut given a polish for the 22nd century, Audio is a bubblegum bass banger that doesn’t let up for its three and a half minutes. An obnoxious pitched vocal loop “audio, oh, dee, oh” forms the track’s spine, and around this easyFun fits his pop cyborg avenger with all manner of futuristic stabs, kicks, and pads so that it’s kitted out for its journey into deep space. The music easyFun is responsible for never betrays his moniker, and this bop is no exception.
