Dynamic duo Eli & Fur announce their smokey second album, ‘Dreamscapes’
Platonic soulmates intertwined by a shared sonic vision, Eli & Fur are far more than just a DJ duo that boast a decade of unwavering collaboration together. Their music is a symphonic testament to their dynamic perspectives and the collective experiences that have firmly positioned the pair at the helm of the house and techno scene. They are set to unveil their second album, Dreamscapes, on September 27, 2024 via [PIAS] Électronique.
Dreamscapes unfolds itself in the introspective, yet transformative spaces that come alive between the hours of dusk and dawn. An electrifying opus that tempts the intricate interplay of thoughts and emotions, Dreamscapes is a 15-track homage to the cathartic musings of our most solitary wanderings of all corners of the night and the flashes in between. It’s the resounding buzz of a night in Paris spent reminiscing under the stars. It’s the excitement and trepidation of wondering what awaits you on the next horizon. It’s the lingering euphoria of missing someone you love and it’s a solo cab ride home from a night out, chasing the sunrise as the first light of dawn approaches.
A tone-setting precursor to Dreamscape, the first single of the album, ‘Insomnia‘, ushered listeners unknowingly into the mystical transition that occurs as day slips into dusk. Emulating the anticipation that builds with each passing moment, “Insomnia” arrived as a crescendo, inviting us to dance to the rhythm of its quickening pulse and spellbinding cadence.
Eli & Fur share: ‘Insomnia‘ is the start of a new journey for us, a body of work that we have been creating for the last two years. Focusing on the moments between dusk and dawn, getting lost in the night, making music inspired by moving from dance floor to dance floor and the moments of introspective solitude in between. Insomnia is one of those moments. You are awake, searching for a place to exist, lost in your mind or in a dimly lit room. This song is about escape and the secrets that keep you up at night.”
Arriving on May 23, the second single off the album, ‘Golden Eyes and Tears’, delivers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of Dreamscapes through sincere and real emotion. Upon pressing play, this track reveals an ambient soundscape that replicates the nostalgia of reminiscing, stirring a sense of excitement, connection and bliss. The duo’s sultry vocals soon surface in this dream-like dimension to carry listeners home, infusing an analog warmth that further blurs the lines between tangible and fantastical.
“Think about your favorite part of the night,” the duo divulge, “… Maybe it’s the getting ready process, or dancing with friends, or the great conversation, or the random conversation about absolutely nothing… whatever it is, it’s funny and special and beautiful. One of our favorite moments is when it’s all over. You get home after chasing the sunrise and you are just reminiscing and taking it all in. Golden Eyes And Tears is a love song for the thoughtful early mornings. Looking out the window in the taxi on your way home, or just winding down, running through the night in your head. We hope you all enjoy this track in those quiet hours.”
While the Dreamscape journey is intrinsically auditory, the unveiling of the album is accompanied by the announcement of a 3 date headline live tour that will see stops in London, Los Angeles and New York City. Building on the hype of the duo’s enthralling Found In The Wild: Live film and their incredible Cercle Set from Skyway, Monte Bianco, these forthcoming shows will mark the first time fans will have the opportunity to experience an Eli & Fur live performance beyond the screen. Throughout these three, enchanting performances – the only live shows of 2024 – Eli & Fur will present fans with an exclusive opportunity to experience tracks from the new album alongside beloved classics from their catalog in a truly unforgettable way.
