Cam Jones Makes Zealous Records Debut With ‘Impatient’ EP

Miami producer Cam Jones has made his debut on UK house label Zealous Records with the three-track Impatient EP, marking the 24th release in the label’s catalogue. Released on 13 August 2026, the record is available across streaming platforms, with a four-week Beatport exclusive period, and has already picked up early support from a notable selection of DJs and producers including Gorgon City, MEDUZA, Mau P, Sam Divine, Shiba San and Deeper Purpose.

The release introduces Jones to a label that has built its reputation around identifying emerging talent. Founded in 2020 by artist Josh Dean, Zealous Records has developed its catalogue by backing artists early in their careers rather than focusing exclusively on established names. The label says its releases have reached listeners in more than 200 countries, while its wider presence has included more than 30 events across Nottingham and London at venues such as Secret Garden and The Brickworks.

The Impatient EP brings together three tracks that reflect different stages of Jones‘ production process. The title track and Unfaithful were produced during a period when Jones was exploring production techniques and aesthetics inspired by 1980s music, incorporating chopped vocal hooks, warmer textures and grooves designed around feel and movement rather than sheer impact.

Impatient’ opens the release with a prominent cowbell driving its upbeat rhythm, while the vocal remains central throughout the track. ‘Unfaithful’ follows with a similar blend of retro-inspired textures and contemporary house production, functioning as a natural companion to the title track. The EP’s third track, Big Sound, takes a more progressive approach. Built around a rolling groove and a patient build towards its drop, the track offers a different perspective on Jones‘ production style.

Jones describes the EP as music designed with the dancefloor in mind. “They’re the kind of records that can shift the energy in a room, and stand out from a lot of what’s usually played in club environments,” he says. The release’s visual identity follows a similarly nostalgic and slightly melancholic concept. Its artwork depicts a graffitied payphone with the word “love” scrawled across the receiver, suggesting an unanswered call and reinforcing the EP’s themes of communication, relationships and emotional distance.
