Branko‘s album Atlas was, in my humble opinion, one of the more underrated releases of 2015. With stunning work that saw the Portuguese artist across five incredible cities- New York, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Sao Paulo, and Cape Town – the album explored various styles and fascinating artists, and it was bound to have a few cuts that didn’t make the official album.
Luckily, he’s released an Atlas Expanded version of the album, and we’re seeing the tracks that didn’t make the original release come out, and the latest is a stunning, light release under the name ‘Reserva Pra Dois.’ Translated to Reservation for Two, it manages to capture romance and beauty with the light touch reminiscent of bossa nova, but still keeping in tune with Branko’s electronic style.
According to him-
‘I made this song back in march 2015 while I was working on my debut album ‘Atlas’. I’ve been a fan of Mayra Andrade’s work for a long time, so when the opportunity came for me to get in the studio with her I had to grab it like my life depended on it. I called Kalaf to come help us with the words and all together we came up with the concept in less than 24 hours. It wasn’t part of the album because I wasn’t fully happy with my production work, but after a while I picked it up again and was able to put together something that sounded a lot more interesting to me.’
