Emerging experimental artist Be My Wife is gearing up to unveil his evocative single ‘Only You’ on Friday, 5 September.
The forward-thinking single is the third track to be released from his upcoming EP To Deliver a Feeling, which is slated for release on the same day. Be My Wife is the moniker of Paris-based visual artist and producer Federico Nessi, who has crafted a distinct musical universe shaped by emotionality, theatricality and experimentation.
‘Only You’ was the very first track Federico wrote at the inception of the Be My Wife project, and marks a significant milestone in his career. The track brilliantly showcases the essence of Be My Wife, as well as the foundation the project was built on. ‘Only You’ delves into themes of love, romance and yearning, while also boldly highlighting the shadow aspects of love. Speaking on the single Be My Wife shared; “‘Only You’ is quintessentially a love song, but it addresses both the charm and the darkness. To what extremes would we go for love?”
When it comes to the track’s composition, ‘Only You’ is a masterclass in balancing euphoria with tension. It exhibits Federico’s adept ability in using his voice as a tool in order to ignite deep emotions and a brooding atmosphere. The single is moulded by the sharp use of synths, engrossing beats and an ear-worm melody that emphasises the theatrical yet melancholic nature of the track.
With a background in fine art, Federico channels his instinctive artistic nature into each song, allowing them to breathe and unfold like paintings, and ‘Only You’ is no exception. Be on the lookout for an accompanying music video directed by Grégoire Léon-Dufour, which will be unveiled soon.
