Bibio and Dorian Concept announce collaborative album ‘Answers’

Bibio and Dorian Concept have announced their first full-length collaborative album, Answers, set for release on October 16 via Warp Records. The 13-track instrumental project brings together elements of IDM, folk, ambient music and field recordings, continuing a creative relationship between the two experimental artists that stretches back more than a decade.

The pair have shared new single ‘Lichen Trip’ alongside the album announcement, following July’s release of ‘Shame’. Built around cyclical folk guitar, synthesiser textures, piano and processed recordings, ‘Lichen Trip’ offers an early indication of the organic-meets-electronic approach running through the record.

Answers grew out of an idea sparked when Bibio saw Dorian Concept’s visuals for his 2022 track ‘Let It All Go’. The two subsequently began exchanging music and visual ideas remotely, developing the project between their respective locations and expanding their collaboration beyond sound. The album will be accompanied by five music videos created using a combination of analogue and early digital video technology, embracing glitches and imperfections as part of the project’s visual language.

The album is not the duo’s first collaboration: Bibio previously contributed guitar to Dorian Concept’s 2025 album Miniatures, while the pair have also worked together on earlier material. With Answers, however, their long-running creative dialogue takes centre stage for the first time across a complete album.
