Rapper-producer Jane Remover recently released a self-produced remix of their track, ‘Music Baby’. The enigmatic hyperpop artist first teased the track during their debut Coachella performance earlier in April, surprising fans by dropping the song unannounced. ‘Music Baby (leroy Remix)’ was released alongside a B-side, ‘Experimental Skin / How to Teleport (leroy Remix)’ on 22 April.

Jane Remover has consistently released critically acclaimed albums, with their most recent record, Revengeseekerz, released in April 2025. The version of the original ‘Music Baby’ was released in December 2025 on their highly anticipated EP. The project saw Remover venture into a more mainstream pop-focused direction, with dance-inspired instrumentals and catchy hooks. Being an early adopter and pioneer of the hyperpop subgenre, Jane Remover has become infamous for constantly experimenting with new genres and sounds. It should come as no surprise, then, that this new remix sounds absolutely nothing like the original ‘Music Baby’.

On the track Remover’s maximalist, dariocore-pioneering alter ego, leroy, is at the helm of production. The track opens on a high note: An ear-piercing synth playing a high-frequency tone quickly bitcrushed into a muddled drone. Eurodance stabs accompany a familiar, catchy refrain, “You make the city so hot, you can’t break my heart.”

Through its almost five-minute runtime, the song contorts and expands with distorted basslines and deafening percussion breaks – hyperpop, dariacore, techno – all packaged in an explosive yet memorable track.
