Aphex Twin AKA Richard D. James, has been confirmed to headline next year’s Field Day following a guerrilla marketing campaign involving Aphex Twin-branded scratch cards which sent viral rumours into overdrive this weekend.The performance is set to take place in ‘The Barn’, a massive new indoor stage feature for the annual festival in London’s Victoria Park. It marks the elusive producer’s first UK gig in half a decade and will take place on 3rd of June.
James will headline the new metal framed arena features a state of the art, high-powered soundsystem coupled with a futuristic lighting rig that’s reported to be “one of the most technologically advanced around.”
Earlier this year, Aphex Twin released a new EP called Cheetah. Recently, µ-Ziq (aka Mike Paradinas) also reissued his album with Aphex Twin, Expert Knob Twiddlers. Watch the videos for both below.
