UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle (UMHL), the hospitality arm of UMG, has partnered with entertainment destination Outernet London to launch UMusic Hotel Denmark Street, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. The project will mark UMusic’s first hotel in the UK and its second in Europe, following the opening of UMusic Hotel Madrid in 2022.
The property will replace Chateau Denmark, a 55-bedroom hotel open from 2022. Positioned as part of a broader music ecosystem, UMusic Hotel Denmark Street is part of a wider initiative linking live music, nightlife, hospitality, and immersive entertainment in the Denmark Street and Outernet district. Additionally, UMHL will manage operations and programming for The Lower Third, Outernet’s grassroots live music venue on Denmark Street, alongside UMG’s global network of artists, labels, and creative partners.
The partnership will also bring music-themed food and beverage venues, lounges, and artist activations to Outernet’s platforms, whose district sees over 120 million annual visitors. Located on London’s “Tin Pan Alley,” Denmark Street has a rich musical history of songwriting, studios, instrument shops, and rehearsal spaces. The former Regent Sound Studios hosted legends like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and David Bowie. Additionally, the Sex Pistols lived in an attic on the street in the mid-1970s, leaving behind Johnny Rotten graffiti preserved in a Chateau Denmark suite.
The London venue aligns with UMG’s strategy to expand into physical experiences, hospitality, and entertainment. UMusic Hotel Madrid already pairs lodging with music events and a 900-capacity theatre, while the UMusic Hotel & Beach Club in Tulum, Mexico, is set to open in December 2026.
