Ten Walls: DJ, Producer, Homophobe and Rip Off Merchant

Ten Walls, real name Mario Basanov, has just taken his own career, placed it in a guillotine and dropped a dumbbell on top of it. The Lithuanian producer, for a reason unbeknown to most (notably his publicist), took to Facebook to spew his opinions on homosexuality across the internet. The tirade went as follows:

I remember producing music for one Lithuanian musician, who tried to wash my brain that I don’t need to be so conservative and intolerant about them,” he began.

“When I asked him ‘what would you do if you realised that your 16-year-old son’s browny (anus) is ripped by his boyfriend?’ Well he was silent.”

As well as stating, in “the good 90s … these people of different breed where [sic] fixed,” the post compared homosexuality to paedophile abuse by Catholic priests.

“One of my first gigs in Ireland, on my way to [my] hotel I saw a church with a fence decorated with hundreds of baby shoes. Naturally I wondered why? Unfortunately a priest’s lie for many years was uncovered when children were massively raped. Unfortunately the people of other breed continue to do it and everyone knows it but does nothing.”

This afternoon (8 June), with the hugely offensive posts deleted,  a clearly PR formulated apology appeared on the DJ’s [Facebook] wall which read:

“Last week I wrote a Facebook post that was wrong and completely out of character and the result was a badly written post that was unacceptable. It was never my intention to offend anyone. I’m really saddened by everything that has happened and I would like to apologise to everyone I’ve let down, especially to my friends in the gay community, and my fans.

I now need to take a break and have cancelled my upcoming shows.”

Needless to say, this commenced a stream of comments from (ex) fans, fellow DJs/producers, the justly-horrified masses and people without day jobs:

Following his deranged outburst, Creamfields, Sonus, Pitch Festival and Urban Art Forms have all removed Ten Walls from their line ups and he’s been publicly dumped by his booking agents, Coda Music Agency.

In lieu of his fall from grace, we would like to use this opportunity to take you back to that time Adomaitis slipped, fell and shamelessly plagiarised the hell out of a Gregor Tresher tune.

Listen below to Gregor Tresher, ‘A Thousand Nights‘ followed by Ten Walls, ‘Walking With Elephants‘.

Ten Walls: DJ, producer, homophobe, rip off merchant and a guy that’s having a really bad Monday.
