Spotify has launched Fresh Finds Forward, a new programme designed to support approximately 10,000 emerging independent artists each year with a package of creative, professional and wellbeing resources. The initiative builds on the streaming platform’s long-running Fresh Finds editorial playlists, which spotlight unsigned, independent and early-career artists.
Artists added to any Fresh Finds playlist starting 1 January 2026 can join via Spotify for Artists, receiving 12 months of benefits. Key perks include free studio time for US-based artists at Electric Lady Studios in New York, The Lighthouse at Ocean Way Nashville, and Spotify Studios in Los Angeles. Members also get early access to Spotify tools, tour/video partnership priority, a Fresh Finds profile badge, and subscriptions to LANDR Studio Pro and Splice’s Creator Plan. Additional features include networking events and six months of free BetterHelp therapy to support mental health.
Fresh Finds has established itself as a key discovery platform for emerging artists, helping over 80,000 artists across 127 countries reach new listeners in the past decade. Since 2024, its playlists have driven over 128 million discoveries, with nearly 70% of streams coming from first-time listeners.
The initiative reflects streaming platforms’ growing focus on offering tools and infrastructure for long-term indie artist careers. Spotify aims to turn playlist exposure into sustained opportunities. Musicians can pitch releases via Spotify for Artists, with notifications for eligible creators rolling out starting September 17.
