Australian electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL are adding another milestone to an already record-breaking period in their career, becoming the electronic act with the highest number of performances and ticket sales at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The group kicked off the first of four consecutive sold-out shows at the iconic venue on June 25, a feat that further underlines the rapidly expanding scale of their live presence.

The achievement arrives during the trio’s massive Inhale / Exhale era, which has already rewritten parts of electronic music’s touring history. Recent reports surrounding the tour noted that it had become the highest-grossing electronic tour ever, with hundreds of thousands of tickets sold across a global run that has pushed the band into larger venues traditionally associated with major rock and pop acts. Their recent successes have also included landmark performances in stadiums and arenas across North America and Australia.

For electronic music, the moment represents more than a touring statistic. Madison Square Garden has long stood as one of the music industry’s most symbolic stages, and RÜFÜS DU SOL’s four-night run signals the continued rise of electronic artists as arena and stadium headliners rather than festival-only attractions.
