Robert Henke, the man behind Monolake and the groundbreaking audiovisual performance piece Lumiere II, has announced on Facebook that he will not play any live shows in the US this year.
Furthermore, the German artist has declared that he will not be renewing his American artist visa, echoing the words of British DJ Dave Clarke, who issued a similar threat last week.
Although he didn’t explicitly mention so in his Facebook post, Henke’s decision seems to have been taken in protest of US President Donald Trump’s executive orders on immigration. Henke was keen not to be misunderstood by his American fans, however, adding the following to his announcement: “A word for all my friends and fans in the US: I do everything I can to support you. I know you are as devastated as I am. This is not against you.”
