‘Glimpse Of Hope’ is taken from ‘Echo’, Nils Bech’s first album on DFA Records / Fysisk Format and is now available for streaming and download. Released on LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy’s esteemed DFA label, the track is by far – as potential hits go, Bech’s strongest to date. It is extremely catchy upon first listen. This latest offering has everything from shimmering synths to melancholic melody and screeching violin strings. Allowing a contrast of classical and minimalist to blend to great effect. It is accompanied by a crescendo of digitalised marching beats, and retro synths as the song progresses in intensity.
The video is also perfectly complimentary and is directed by Ida Ekblad, who allowed her and Bech’s mutual friend, Norwegian gender neutral model and fashion photographer Jakob Landvik, to ‘play house’ in her own home. Landvik adopts the role of lovelorn protagonist to fantastically eccentric proportions.
This will entertain you at the very least… or could even be your next breakup anthem in the making who knows?
