Montreal producer and DJ Jacques Greene has announced his third solo studio album, jg, marking his first solo full-length in seven years. The 11-track record is set for release on October 16 via LUCKYME®, with Greene introducing the project alongside its bass-heavy new single, ‘Presence’. jg follows Greene’s acclaimed 2019 album Dawn Chorus and arrives after a period of collaborative work, including his 2025 project with Nosaj Thing under their Verses GT alias.
‘Presence’ offers an early indication of the direction Greene has taken with the new record. Built around a bass-heavy two-step rhythm, the track leans into the UK-rooted club influences that have long been central to Greene’s production while retaining his characteristic focus on atmosphere, melody and R&B-inflected textures.
The new single follows two tracks already released from the forthcoming album: ‘Closer’, a collaboration with Melbourne-born, London-based producer DJ BORING, and ‘What You Say’, featuring New York producer umru. Both tracks arrived earlier in 2026, establishing the collaborative and club-focused direction of the album ahead of its full release. Alongside them, the album features Ouri, Jonah Yano, SAM-E, SEES0000, CFCF, crushed and Sølv, with the guest appearances spanning different corners of contemporary electronic and alternative music.
The collaboration with SEES0000, in particular, grew out of a personal connection rather than a conventional studio pairing. Greene explained that the track came together through time spent with the artist outside the studio, reinforcing the album’s emphasis on relationships and shared experiences rather than simply assembling a list of guest appearances.
The album represents another chapter in Greene’s long-running relationship with LUCKYME. His debut album, Feel Infinite, arrived on the Glasgow label in 2017, followed by Dawn Chorus in 2019. Over the course of his career, Greene has also released music through labels including Night Slugs, 3024 and his own Vase imprint, while establishing himself as a producer whose work frequently sits between club music, R&B and more emotionally driven electronic songwriting.
His influence on contemporary dance music extends beyond his own releases. Greene has remixed artists including Radiohead, Ciara and Shlohmo, while his earlier productions helped connect UK garage and post-dubstep influences with R&B and house music.
The new album arrives as Greene continues an active touring schedule. His upcoming dates include performances in Shanghai, Chiba, Sydney, Byron Bay and Melbourne, among others, with the tour beginning in August. His current listings also include a Los Angeles event connected to the launch of ‘Presence’, alongside appearances with artists including CFCF and DJ BORING.
