Electronic music star Fred again.. will lead a free production and songwriting workshop for trans+ music creators at Abbey Road Studios on 19 June. The event marks the launch of Trans+ Future Sounds, a new initiative from Trans Creative Collective (TCC) and We Are Moving The Needle, designed to support trans songwriters, producers and industry professionals through mentorship, skills development and community-building.

Alongside Fred again.., the programme will feature TCC co-founder charlieeeee, producer Sans Soucis, DJ and producer MESSIE, artist-songwriter Satch, and the trans choral collective Trans Voices

The event will include workshops, production sessions, networking opportunities, a performance by Trans Voices, and a gear and plug-in giveaway, with A&Rs, managers and agents also participating. Organisers say the aim is to help trans+ creators build professional networks and access industry opportunities.

The initiative responds to ongoing concerns about representation in music production. According to We Are Moving The Needle’s Fix The Mix research, only 2.3% of producers are women, trans or non-binary. charlieeeee said the project aligns with TCC’s mission to create opportunities for trans+ creatives to “thrive, not just survive” in the music industry by providing access to education, mentorship and industry connections.
