Eugene Luu Reimagines Flying Lotus’ ‘Mudhole’ With High-Energy Remix

Bay Area DJ and producer Eugene Luu has unveiled an unofficial tech house remix of “Mudhole,” the original collaboration between Flying Lotus, Captain Murphy and Little Snake. Released via SoundCloud on 26 June 2026, the remix reworks the experimental, hip-hop-infused original into a peak-time club cut while paying tribute to the track’s cinematic roots.

Originally featured on the soundtrack to the 2026 martial arts action film The Furious (火遮眼), “Mudhole” stood out for its dark, genre-blurring production. Luu’s reinterpretation shifts the focus toward the dancefloor, replacing the original’s abstract textures with rolling basslines, punchy percussion and energetic house grooves without completely abandoning its underlying atmosphere.

The track reflects Luu’s signature niche of blending contemporary house music with action cinema, inspired by Hong Kong martial arts films. His previous house reinterpretations include Carl Douglas’ “Kung Fu Fighting,” Wu-Tang Clan’s “C.R.E.A.M.,” and DJ Snake’s “Run It” from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Gaining international traction, Luu has released music through Armada Music and earned support from Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
