Music collector’s website Discogs have announced plans to roll out a mobile app for iOS and Android in the first quarter of 2016.
Launched in 2000, owned by Zink Media Inc and created by programmer, DJ and music enthusiast Kevin Lewandowski, the site has become the record collector’s go-to source of information on releases, allowing users to catalogue and market their entire collections. By May of this year the database contained over 6 million releases.
The Vinyl Factory report that the app will allow users to access their collections, check market prices, modify wantlists and search the database while on-the-go, although it seems messaging or purchasing will still have to be done via the site.
