Club Empire opens November 7 at Hackney’s Empire Tavern, offering late-night underground music, extended DJ sets, and local talent every Friday and Saturday.

Situated on Mare Street, Club Empire will operate at weekends from 10 pm to 2 am, offering house, disco, funk, and soul. The venue aims to support grassroots selectors and London’s independent music scene. According to Resident Advisor, it features a custom Blaze by Sonance sound system. Its lineup will focus on Four Hours With…, a series of extended sets by UK artists, as well as label takeovers and external promoter events.

Affordability is central to Club Empire’s ethos. The venue will offer a limited allocation of free first-come, first-served tickets for its in-house “Four Hours With…” events, alongside advance tickets priced between £5 and £8. Operators also plan to host label takeovers and independent promoter events from the UK underground scene. Although the launch lineup is unannounced, programming prioritises extended DJ sets over short appearances. This focus on local talent and grassroots collectives aims to create accessible underground music spaces outside London’s larger club circuit.

Building on Mare Street’s Empire Tavern, which launched in March 2026 as a pub, diner, and events space, Club Empire adds a late-night weekly club programme. Starting November 7, it aims to offer affordable Hackney nightlife with extended DJ sets, independent music programming, and low-cost entry. Details and future announcements will be shared via its official Resident Advisor listings.
