Electronic music platform and livestream pioneer Cercle has revealed that it is facing severe financial pressure, with the company citing rising taxes and shrinking margins as key challenges affecting its future. In a public message shared by founder Derek Barbolla, the company stated that it is in a difficult position and, for the first time in its history, is directly asking fans for financial support through donations. The announcement marks an unusual step for a brand that has become one of dance music’s most recognisable audiovisual platforms.

Over the past decade, Cercle has built a distinct identity within electronic music through destination performances staged at visually striking locations around the world. The platform became known for pairing artists with extraordinary settings, transforming performances into cinematic experiences that helped redefine livestream culture within dance music. Its productions have featured internationally recognised DJs and producers while attracting millions of viewers online.

Cercle’s appeal for support also highlights wider pressures affecting music and event companies as production costs continue to rise and operating margins become increasingly difficult to maintain.
