Apple has opened a new 600-capacity live music venue inside London’s iconic Battersea Power Station, combining intimate performances with high-end recording, broadcast and Spatial Audio technology.
Named Apple Music Hall, the venue opens on 28 September, with programming details following soon. It features a 38-foot reconfigurable stage for front-facing or in-the-round setups, along with a 48-speaker Spatial Audio system delivering an immersive experience for the 600-person audience.
Backstage, Apple Music Hall features two recording and mixing studios for multitrack and Spatial Audio capture. Equipped with 16+ cameras and a broadcast control room integrating traditional cameras with iPhones, the facility enables a single show to serve as a concert, live recording, multicamera shoot, and global livestream beyond its 600-person capacity.
Drawing from Battersea Power Station’s industrial heritage with brickwork, fluted arches, and bronze balconies, the venue also houses new Apple Music Radio studios for London-based broadcasts. Global creative director Zane Lowe highlighted its role in connecting artists and fans, while vice president Oliver Schusser noted that the intentionally small size offers an intimate experience rather than competing with London’s larger arenas.
