Belgian pop star Angèle has announced her third studio album, Instinct, bringing together an eclectic cast of collaborators including French electronic duo Justice, Soulwax, Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn. Due for release on 16 October 2026 via Angèle VL Records and Sony Music, Instinct will contain 13 tracks and marks Angèle’s first full-length album since 2021’s Nonante–Cinq.
The announcement arrives alongside a new single, ‘Une seule vie’, accompanied by a video directed by Thomas Mailaender. The visual explores themes of memory, nostalgia and the passage of time through an intentionally analogue aesthetic. Mailaender described the approach as using analogue imagery as a “fragile, imperfect material” through which Angèle’s memories and visions could take physical form.
Instinct will also feature ‘What You Want’, Angèle’s collaboration with Justice released earlier this year. The partnership marked a meeting between one of Belgium’s biggest pop artists and the French electronic duo, who have continued to occupy a central position in contemporary electronic music since their breakthrough in the mid-2000s. Elsewhere, Soulwax feature on ‘Trop’, while Caroline Polachek and SebastiAn appear together on ‘Love Triangle’. The album also includes previously released single ‘Dis-le’, which was produced with Angèle’s longtime collaborator Tristan Salvati.
The album follows a busy period of collaborations for Angèle. Earlier this month, she appeared alongside Belgian techno artist Amelie Lens on ‘run’, a track from Lens‘ forthcoming album AURA. With Instinct, Angèle appears to be pushing further into electronic territory while retaining the pop sensibility that has established her as one of Belgium’s most prominent contemporary artists.
