Prince Kaybee Teams Up With Ben September For New Single ‘Veliry’

South African Afro-house artist Prince Kaybee released a new single, ‘Veliry,’ featuring R&B/soul singer Ben September, on August 21, 2026, via PLAYY. Records. Over the past decade, Prince Kaybee has become a global Afro-house ambassador with platinum hits like ‘Uwrongo,’ which TIME Magazine named one of 2020’s best songs. He has collaborated with artists including Lady Zamar, Busiswa, TNS, Shimza, Black Motion, and Ami Faku, and earned South African Music Awards, a Metro FM Music Award for Best Dance Album, DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Song of the Year honors, a Soundcity MVP Award, and recognition from the African Muzik Magazine Awards.

The single follows ‘Heno Babayo,’ Prince Kaybee’s previous release on PLAYY. Records, which picked up international attention from outlets including Mixmag (across Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Latin America and the Caribbean) and YourEDM, plus UK airplay on KISS XTRA’s The Afro Electronic Show with Larizzle. Locally, the track was covered by IOL and Music In Africa and received rotation on Metro FM, YFM and Good Hope FM.

Before music, Prince Kaybee pursued a soccer career with Bloemfontein Celtics, which was cut short by a knee injury. Influenced by his father’s love for African classics and jazz, he turned to music, winning SABC 1’s Masters of Spin in 2015 and earning an MTV Africa Music Award nomination in 2016. His ‘Veliry’ collaborator, Ben September from Sasolburg, blends alternative R&B, Afro-pop, and soul. Drawing influences from Brent Faiyaz and Daniel Caesar, September previously worked with artists like Prince Kaybee, Tyler ICU, KLY, FLVME, and The Big Hash before establishing himself as a distinct South African artist.

Veliry‘ opens on a warm, trickling guitar line before settling into a steady Afro house groove. September’s vocal performance sits comfortably in the pocket of the production, intimate in places, uplifting in others, while the track’s percussion and understated melodic touches give it room to build gradually rather than rushing toward a payoff.
