Berlin techno pioneer Ellen Allien has released her new studio album, New Life, marking another chapter in her decades-long career as one of electronic music’s most influential artists. The record was released on 9 July via her own iconic BPitch Control imprint, a label that has played a defining role in shaping underground techno since its launch in 1999.

Described as a deeply personal and forward-looking project, New Life sees her exploring themes of renewal, transformation and creative freedom. Blending hypnotic rhythms with atmospheric textures and emotive melodies, the album reflects both the energy of the dancefloor and moments of introspection, showcasing the producer’s signature ability to balance experimental sound design with club-focused techno.

As the founder of BPitch Control, Ellen Allien has long been a driving force in Berlin’s electronic music scene, helping launch the careers of artists including Paul Kalkbrenner, Apparat and Modeselektor while continually pushing the boundaries of techno through her own releases. New Life follows a catalogue that stretches from Stadtkind and Berlinette to more recent albums such as AurAA, reinforcing her status as one of the genre’s most enduring innovators.
