Thomas Bangalter, co-founder of the renowned electronic duo Daft Punk, has unveiled a new remix of his track ‘Circonvolutions,’ which is part of a collaborative effort with CHANEL. The remix was released on May 28th, through Warner Classics, and reimagines material from Bangalter’s orchestral album, Mythologies, which debuted in 2023.

Originally composed for choreographer Angelin Preljocaj’s ballet of the same name, the new version of ‘Circonvolutions’ aligns with CHANEL’s latest global campaign for Bleu de CHANEL, directed by celebrated filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón and featuring actor Jacob Elordi.

The digital release includes both the remix and the original orchestral piece, performed by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine under the baton of conductor Romain Dumas. Additionally, a limited-edition numbered 12-inch vinyl EP will be made available for collectors and fans alike.

This remix comes just ahead of Bangalter’s highly anticipated album, Mirage: Ballet For 16 Dancers, set to drop on June 5th. This upcoming project, created in collaboration with choreographer Damien Jalet and artist Kōhei Nawa, signifies a transition for Bangalter from orchestral compositions to a minimalist electronic sound.
