Mint XL Reveals Photos of Ambitious New 2,500-Capacity Leeds Venue

New Leeds venue Mint XL has revealed first-look photos of its 2,500-capacity club. This brand-new venue is brought to you by the team behind the beloved Mint Club and was originally set to open as a 2,000-capacity space. However, the owners have now confirmed that it will accommodate an additional 500 people and is set to debut this autumn in the heart of the city.

Mint XL will be located in the Merrion Centre in Leeds’ city center, taking over the former PRYZM nightclub site. The location is currently undergoing extensive redevelopment and full-scale renovation. It’s conveniently close to two universities, as well as key nightlife and transport links.

The official launch party for the venue will take place on Friday, 25 September. Line-ups for the opening event have yet to be disclosed. The venue comes from the same team responsible for Mint Festival, Mint Warehouse, and the flagship Mint Club, which closed in 2018 after 20 years due to development.

Mint XL will feature multiple rooms and will implement a strict no-phone policy on its dancefloors to keep the focus on the music, banning photos and videos. The main rooms will boast Funktion-One Vero sound systems, ensuring high-quality production throughout the venue. It aims to be the “most ambitious” project from the Mint team to date, focusing on dance music and programming that includes extended sets and longer live performances.
