How long have you been releasing music as Water Bear, and what has been a standout moment in the journey so far?

I have been releasing music as Water Bear for the past few years, steadily building my presence within the international electronic music scene. One of the standout moments in my journey has been working with more than 10 international record labels across Europe and North America, including labels connected to major industry groups such as Sony and Warner. These opportunities have allowed my music to reach a wider global audience and have played a key role in shaping my artistic direction.

What inspired you to start making music in the first place?

I was inspired by the emotional impact that electronic music can create on a large scale. From early on, I was fascinated by how sound design, melody, and structure could be combined to influence the listener’s emotional experience. This led me to pursue music production seriously, with the goal of creating music that connects with audiences globally.

How would you describe your sound to a new fan or supporter?

My sound is rooted in the intersection of Future Rave and Progressive House, combining high-energy festival structures with melodic depth and emotional storytelling. I aim to create music that works both in large-scale environments, such as festivals, and in more immersive personal listening experiences.

You’ve worked with several international record labels. How has this influenced your sound or identity as an artist?

Working with international labels has significantly broadened my perspective as an artist. It has exposed me to different audiences and production standards across various regions, particularly in Europe and North America. This experience has helped me refine my sound and develop a more globally-oriented artistic identity.

Walk us through the creative process for ‘Future Harmony’ – where did you find initial inspiration for the track, and how did that carry through the rest of the production?

‘Future Harmony’ began with a melodic concept aimed at creating both emotional resonance and energy. I developed this idea into a full arrangement by carefully balancing dynamic drops with atmospheric breakdowns. Throughout the production process, I focused on maintaining contrast between intensity and emotion, ensuring that the track delivers both impact and a sense of connection.

How do you balance studio production of a track with performing it live? Is that something you keep in mind at all when producing?

Yes, I always consider how a track will translate in a live or festival environment. At the same time, I ensure that the track maintains enough depth and structure to stand on its own as a listening experience. Balancing these two aspects is an important part of my production process.

We love the optimistic atmosphere of ‘Future Harmony.’ What do you hope listeners take away from the track?

I hope listeners can feel both the energy and emotional depth within the track. My goal is to create music that not only drives movement on the dance floor but also leaves a lasting emotional impression. The optimistic atmosphere reflects my intention to create uplifting and meaningful electronic music.

What is your go-to remedy for overcoming creative block?

When facing creative block, I usually step away from the studio to reset my perspective. Listening to different styles of music or taking a break from production allows me to return with a fresh mindset, which often leads to new ideas and better creative decisions.

If you could collaborate with any artist – dead or alive – who would it be and why?

I would be interested in collaborating with artists who have contributed to shaping the global electronic music scene, particularly those who combine innovation with strong emotional elements. I value artists who are able to push creative boundaries while maintaining a distinct musical identity.

What can fans expect next from Water Bear?

Moving forward, fans can expect continued releases that further develop my sound within Future Rave and melodic electronic music. I also plan to expand collaborations and continue working with international labels, while exploring more cinematic and emotionally-driven productions. My focus is to strengthen my presence within the global electronic music scene.
