Sheffield-based record label Black Beacon Sound, has unveiled the third and final installment in its dance and electronic EP series for a charitable cause.
Released on 27 February, Sampler Part Three features six tracks from incredible electronic producers like Dan G, ona:v and dj jeans and a nice top. The EP spans a range of sounds such as techno, hip hop, dub, breaks as well as more experimental leaning soundscapes.
Proceeds from the EP go directly to Hope and Homes for Children in Ukraine, which is an organisation that works to bring separated children back to families. The organisation was established in 1994, and has since removed countless children from institutional systems and orphanages back into family dynamics. Through the establishment of foster care and guardianship systems, Hope and Homes for Children has created a powerful structure of mobile teams, counselling, mental health support and more for the children.
The EP is a celebration of independent artists and culture, as well as boundary-breaking electronic music. The opening track by Irish artist Throwing Snow, is aptly titled ‘Erratic’, and creates a powerful foundation for the rest of the EP to follow with its juicy bassline and UKG textures. Liverpool-based producer, DJ and Working Classics record label founder dj jeans & a nice top, added a whimsical yet captivating touch to the EP with her track ‘Uplifting Dub’. Zen the Sharpshooter produced a lo-fi inspired hip hop beat titled ‘Bill Murray’, featuring the rap expertise of Manchester-based artist Charlie Mason, while Dan G, who has received support from NTS and Rinse FM, dropped a peak-time heater with ‘raaah’. Glasgow-based producer and DJ TreasureEdit shared an acid-tinged techno heater with ‘Phosphenes’, while ona:v, who hails from Edinburgh, concluded the EP with a sharp, hypnotic techno cut.
Sampler Part Three is a brilliant culmination of artists who aren’t afraid to go against the status quo and forge their own paths. The EP is dynamic, forward-thinking and best of all it’s for a great cause! Each track on the EP will be available exclusively on this sampler for 4 weeks after the release date, before getting released anywhere else.
