The 2025 DJ Awards have officially revealed their nominees, showcasing a sweeping spectrum of talent that spans the full electronic music landscape. Voting is now open to the public, setting the stage for one of the most encompassing ceremonies yet. Long-established artists such as Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Peggy Gou, and Martin Garrix lead the charge in the International DJ category, while emerging voices including Ahmed Spins, Mau P, and Mestiza make notable entries in the Breakthrough section. There is also a Newcomer category to spotlight emerging talents such as Anaïs, Nala, and Super Strings.
In a nod to electronic music’s ever-evolving cultural currents, this year’s awards introduce two fresh categories: Balearic, honouring the sun-drenched, genre-fluid sound synonymous with Ibiza, and Hard Dance/Bounce, marking the genre’s recent global revival in clubs and festivals. The full roster of genre-specific categories spans Afro, Drum & Bass, Garage/Bassline, Hard Techno, House, Latin House/Reggaetón, Live Act, Progressive/Melodic House, Tech House, Techno, and Trance.
Beyond genre awards, the ceremony also includes a suite of Industry and Special Recognition honours proposed by a jury of music professionals. Categories such as Track of the Summer, Party of the Summer, Icon Award, Lifetime Achievement, Eye On: MENA, DJ Livestream of the Year, and the Social Impact Award will spotlight influential contributions and regional excellence in electronic music.
Founded in 1998, The DJ Awards retuned last year after a four year hiatus. The venue and exact date of the ceremony remain under wraps, but anticipation is mounting for what promises to be a dynamic convergence of legacy and innovation in Ibiza’s most prestigious electronic music celebration.
