UK artist Chris Kaz is gearing up for a massive release in the form of his Sleeping Fires EP, and in preparation, he’s recently released ‘Save Us.’ Working with esteemed producer The 83rd, who’s done work with Angel Haze and Tinashe in the past, the dub-influenced piece is one part old school Skream and two parts James Blake’s R&B falsetto style. Combining the two may seem strange, but the odd pairing illuminates Kaz’s stunning vocal capabilities, as well as The 83rd’s ear for experimentally exciting production.
He’s gained support from Beats1 Radio’s Julie Adenuga and Pigeons and Planes recently, and ‘Save Us’ is a haunting release that displays incredibly potential from the London-based artist. Listen to the track below. ‘Save Us’ is out now via iTunes.
