Frank Ocean launches new radio show for Apple Music

Frank Ocean is launching a new radio show on Apple Music. Homer Radio is a one hour broadcast that will go live weekly, every Thursday at 22:00 (ET). According to Ocean, Homer Radio will be an ‘hour long window’ into the after-hours sounds of the New York City based headquarters of his luxury jewellery brand Homer.

Paris based DJ/Producer CRYSTALMESS is the show’s first official guest. Music that can be expected from episode one includes an eclectic variety of sounds from artists including Nazar, Mr. Ho, Beenie Man, and Dolly Parton

Little is known about what to expect from the upcoming show, though a description provided by Ocean hints toward the office environment which inspired the show. “Twin towering line array speakers hold court. Someone’s vacuuming the carpets adding a distant layer of white noise to the sound. Media volleys across short distances quickly on the net as Sorkin-like walk and talks travel down the hallways further and further from the sound. This is Homer Radio. An office soundtrack. Can’t you hear our ‘voice’? It’s not a dead line.”’

Homer Radio is Ocean’s second show for Apple Music, following the popular Blonded Radio which launched in 2017. Episode 1 of Homer Radio can be found here.
