Canadian pop star Grimes has announced the release date of a new single, Player Of Games, which is slated for this Friday. The singer originally revealed the track’s title in binary code, sending a string of code as a Tweet for fans to translate. When translated, the Tweet reads: ‘Player Of Games’: Dec 3. This was followed by a confirmation Tweet from Grimes, saying: “It’s real this time… Phew.” Grimes also Tweeted out new promotional images and a link for fans to pre-save the single.

It would appear that Player Of Games arrives as the first official single from Grimes’s upcoming Claire de Lune project, which the singer has referred to as a space opera about a queer A.I entity. Previously heard tracks presumably from the project include Shinigami Eyes and 100 Percent Tragedy, a song written in response to Grimes’s ongoing feud with Azealia Banks. Speaking on the upcoming album in September, Grimes revealed that she believed that it was “by far” her “best work.” At the Met Gala, Grimes stated, “I… literally don’t care if anyone listens to this shit. I just want it to be great, to be unequivocally just great art.”
